Job Title: Behaviour Support Staff Location: Wakefield (WF4) Salary: £460 – £600 per week (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Are you a resilient and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting young people to overcome behavioural and emotional challenges? GSL Education are offering an opportunity for dedicated Behaviour Support Staff to work in schools across Wakefield (WF4). As a Behaviour Support Staff, you will work closely with students who display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support. You will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, enhancing engagement, and helping students access learning effectively within the school environment. Main Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group behaviour support to students Support students in managing emotions, behaviour, and social interactions Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams Help students remain engaged in lessons and daily school routines Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment Behaviour Support Staff Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs A strong understanding of behaviour management and positive intervention strategies The ability to build trusting and professional relationships with students Calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
