Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 2AH Rate: £12.79 PAYE Contract: 6 months (likely to be extended)| 37 hrs per week Start: 11 May 2026 Work Pattern: Mon–Thu: 07:00–15:00 Fri: 07:00–14:30 1 in 3 weekends: Sat & Sun 07:00–10:30 (with following Monday off) Driving Licence: Essential About the Role Runnymede Borough Council is seeking a proactive Mobile Estate Warden to help maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments across council housing estates. You will deliver high‑quality cleaning, caretaking and estate support services, acting as the first point of contact for residents and ensuring communal areas meet required standards. This is a mobile role requiring regular travel across the Borough and participation in an out‑of‑hours rota. Key Responsibilities Complete high‑standard cleaning of communal areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, interior windows, toilets and kitchens. Undertake litter picking and maintain cleanliness across blocks and estates. Carry out basic grounds maintenance such as weeding and leaf clearance. Check car parks and garage compounds for issues including abandoned vehicles and fly‑tipping. Monitor communal utility meters and complete inspection checklists. Conduct health & safety risk assessments and report hazards or repairs. Liaise with contractors to provide access for repairs, safety checks and inspections. Support estate inspections, including collecting small fly‑tips. Clean and unblock bin chutes and manage bin rotation for waste and recycling collections. Undertake low‑level working at height and manual handling tasks. Attend team meetings and follow work plans set by the Estate Services Team Leader. Provide customer‑facing support, escalating concerns and safeguarding issues appropriately. Participate in a three‑weekly out‑of‑hours rota, responding to urgent issues, fire alarms, lift entrapments and emergencies in communal areas. About You You will bring: Knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment (Essential). Previous cleaning experience and experience working with the public and vulnerable people. Understanding of COSHH, health & safety, safeguarding and data protection. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to carry out manual handling tasks and work independently or as part of a team. Good verbal communication skills. A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential). Ability to work out of hours as part of the rota.
