Overview
The post holder will be an expert clinical practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical skills in neonatal care. The post holder will possess advanced knowledge of the critically ill neonate, ensuring effective management and treatment. They will provide direct patient management in collaboration and consultation with neonatologists.
Location
NHS Lanarkshire. The role will be based in the Neonatal Unit within University Hospital Wishaw. NHS Lanarkshire serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in North and South Lanarkshire.
Responsibilities
* Provide advanced clinical care for neonates in collaboration with neonatologists.
* Lead safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in practice with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Contribute to service planning, project management, and performance monitoring.
* Demonstrate leadership and strategic thinking to develop teams and services.
* Apply knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the healthcare agenda.
* Assess training needs and manage resources (financial, human, capital).
* Utilize basic information technology in daily practice.
What we will need you to bring
* Registered Nurse/Midwife with valid NMC Registration
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
* Knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent
* Management experience through practice and CPD
* Professional, leadership and managerial experience in the speciality
* Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards
* Experience in assessing training needs and needs analysis
* Experience in resource management (financial; human; capital)
* Experience in service planning, project management and performance monitoring
* Proven leadership ability and teamwork
* Ability to develop innovative solutions and motivate staff
* Experience in developing teams/services and integrated solutions
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
Desirable qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification in neonatal intensive care
* Master’s Degree
* Neonatal Life Support Provider
* Working understanding of Child Protection
Contract details
* Permanent
* Full-time
* 37 hours per week
