The role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Newly Qualified / Junior Associate (0–2 years’ PQE) to join our growing Belfast office. Our team covers a wide range of litigation including motor, disease, employers liability and public liability claims. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding team within our multi‑award‑winning firm. The role is based in our Belfast office and requires regular communication with clients nationally. We have a collaborative, supportive team working in a modern, flexible environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting on a varied caseload of high‑quality matters, including drafting, research, and case management
- Managing your own matters under supervision, with increasing autonomy
- Supporting senior lawyers and partners on complex transactions and/or disputes
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and client advice
- Conducting legal research and analysis
- Engaging directly with clients, intermediaries, and other stakeholders
- Contributing to business development initiatives, including preparing pitches and attending client events
- Ensuring compliance with internal processes, risk management procedures, and regulatory requirements
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor in Northern Ireland, England & Wales, or Ireland (or due to qualify soon)
- 0–2 years’ post‑qualification experience within a reputable firm
- Strong academic background
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
