20 hours per week.

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our warm and caring team. Working in a dementia care home, you’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that support our residents’ health and wellbeing. This position requires sensitivity, patience, and a genuine desire to make mealtimes an enjoyable and comforting part of each resident’s day.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation of hot and cold meals, following dietary guidelines and individual needs
2. Support residents during mealtimes with dignity and respect
3. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas in line with food safety standards
4. Monitor food stock levels and communicate with senior staff regarding supplies
5. Help with setting up tables and clearing away after meals
6. Communicate warmly with residents and contribute to a positive dining experience
7. Collaborate with care staff to understand individual dietary needs and preferences

What We’re Looking For:

8. Previous experience in a catering environment
9. Knowledge of food safety and food hygiene
10. Understanding of dementia and the importance of person-centered care
