ABOUT THE ROLE The Financial Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the Group’s financial reporting and processes. This role is responsible for delivering timely and insightful management accounts, supporting statutory reporting and audits, and maintaining strong financial controls across all entities. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, the Financial Accountant contributes to both day-to-day financial operations and wider finance projects, ensuring the business has reliable information to support effective commercial and strategic decision-making. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting and Month End Own the month-end close process for revenue cut off, returns, cost of sales, fulfilment, and logistics areas, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including stock, landed cost, and fulfilment accruals, for review by the Financial Controller. Deliver timely management reporting on gross margin and fulfilment performance versus forecast. Support the preparation of management accounts and contribute to monthly financial reviews. Analyse gross margin by channel, product, and region, identifying key drivers and trends. Own the monthly reconciliation of Netsuite and Performalytics, including reporting and resolving any variances to ensure data accuracy. Own the monthly reconciliation of online payment platforms, including Global-E. Work closely with Operations to track logistics spend, warehousing costs, and third-party fulfilment charges. Statutory Accounts and Audit Liaise with the auditors as a point of contact throughout the audit process ensuring all audit requests are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Support the Financial Controller in drafting the statutory financial statements for all the Group entities. Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director to implement recommendations suggested within the audit report. Financial Process and Procedures Support the Financial Controller with international sales and statutory tax compliance across the Group. Process and produce the monthly payroll report, for both salaried and retail staff with the support of the People team, to be reviewed by the Financial Controller. Ensure critical controls are followed during the month end process, whole also reporting monthly primary statements results for review by the Financial Controller and Finance Director. Work collaboratively and support the wider finance team with any process or technical assistance. Beyond regular reporting, you will contribute to finance projects, ensuring these initiatives are delivered on time and meet business requirements. Requirements WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO FINISTERRE Formally qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, or Equivalent) Strong numerical and analytical skills with the desire to understand the “why” behind the numbers and the ability to analyse and explain complex data clearly to colleagues at all levels. Experience with Netsuite is beneficial, but not essential Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel You’ll demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with high levels of numeracy and literacy and maintain high standards and accuracy.
