Role Summary
PAEDIATRIC SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY MEDICAL SECRETARY (Band 3) – part‑time, fixed term 1 year, up to 14.4 hours (0.4 WTE). The role is based at Leith CTC or Mountcastle HC in east Edinburgh and supports a paediatric SLT team delivering community‑based service to children and families across Edinburgh.
Responsibilities
* Schedule, book and cancel appointments for the paediatric SLT team.
* Manage office supplies, ordering and inventory to support daily operations.
* Assist with NHS systems such as TRAK/PECOS/SSTS (training will be provided).
* Support coordination with other health or education agencies as needed.
* Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient delivery of the service.
Qualifications
* Qualified medical secretary or equivalent experience.
* Excellent spoken and written communication and organisational skills.
* PVG Scheme membership/record with the appropriate regulatory group (child and/or adult). If not a current member, a satisfactory application to Disclosure Scotland must be obtained before commencement.
* Experience in scheduling, appointment management, and office supply management.
* Familiarity with NHS systems such as TRAK/PECOS/SSTS is desirable.
* Experience working with other agencies within Health or Education is an advantage.
