Youth Worker – Full-Time Location: Liverpool | Setting: Alternative Provision | Start Date: ASAP A dedicated alternative provision school in Liverpool is seeking a full-time Youth Worker to join their committed team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who require a fresh start in education. The school caters to students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have experienced challenges in mainstream settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping these students re-engage with learning, build self-esteem, and develop the skills needed to move forward with confidence. Key Responsibilities: Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities, and positive daily interactions. Serve as a trusted adult and role model, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Encourage participation in learning through inclusive, flexible, and personalised approaches. Provide consistent support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a structured and nurturing learning environment. Candidate Profile: Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or a similar support-focused role. Experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), SEN, or behavioural needs. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport. Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine desire to help students succeed. Confident in managing challenging behaviour and providing emotional and pastoral support.
