Technical Sales Engineer

Butyl Products Ltd. is recruiting a motivated and experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join our team based in our Essex headquarters. This key position centres on promoting and increasing demand for our manufactured products within the UK and export markets, driving new sales opportunities, and contributing to the continued growth of a business known for its high standards and strong industry reputation.

Role Overview
As Technical Sales Engineer you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients and promoting our brand as a trusted industry leader. You will work closely with our technical and design teams to deliver bespoke solutions, while supporting and developing our internal technical sales capability.
This role is based at our Essex HQ, with occasional UK and international visits. You will be backed by a dedicated team of administrative and technical professionals.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in managing complex projects from initial enquiry through to delivery and handover. Experience within a manufacturing company would be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will:
• Proactively seek to identify new clients requiring our products across a broad range of sectors.
• Lead and support projects from concept to completion
• Collaborate with field sales teams to drive cross-selling and solution-based selling
• Generate quotations, manage enquiries, close orders, and maintain CRM records
• Work with technical and design teams to develop tailored client solutions
• Provide responsive troubleshooting and technical support
• Cultivate long-term relationships with new and existing customers
• Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities
