Overview
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit a GCSE Maths Lecturer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking college, supporting learners to achieve essential Maths qualifications and progress into further study or employment.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering GCSE Maths, helping learners build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging GCSE Maths lessons to post‑16 learners
* Support students with varying abilities and learning needs
* Plan and deliver inclusive and effective teaching sessions
* Monitor learner progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
* Prepare learners for exams and assessments
* Create a positive and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
Essential
* Experience teaching Maths (GCSE level)
* Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
* Ability to engage and support post‑16 learners
* Strong communication and classroom management skills
Desirable
* Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
* Experience within Further Education or secondary education
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
