Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Research, Insight and Consultation Manager for a one year.
About the Role
In this role, you will ensure that residents’ voices and high quality research underpin council decision‑making. You will oversee statutory consultations, deliver innovative research and provide clear, actionable insight that shapes policy, commissioning and service design.
You will lead and develop a small professional team, build strong relationships across the organisation and with partners, and champion inclusive engagement—ensuring we hear from communities whose voices are often under‑represented.
A key part of the role will be leading the development and delivery of our bi‑annual City Survey of Southampton residents, as well as exploring new, inclusive and technology‑enabled approaches to engagement.
About You
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent communication and a proven track record of delivering impactful research and consultation in complex environments. You will be confident advising senior leaders and comfortable working at pace in a politically aware setting.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £47,181 - £51,357. The starting salary is £47,181.
