Role Purpose As Finance Assistant, you will work closely with your finance colleagues and across the wider firm to provide an outstanding level of service in processing and producing routine and non-routine accounting and financial information. This role is primarily focused on credit control, working collaboratively with our lawyers to monitor outstanding debts and support effective cash flow management across the firm. Key Responsibilities Credit Control Acting as the firms primary credit controller, working closely with clientfacing teams to monitor aged debt and prepare regular reports on outstanding balances. Proactively liaising with colleagues to resolve billing and payment queries and support the timely settlement of invoices. Support the new ERP System go-live Banking and Payments Processing receipts for banking and preparing payments for authorisation, obtaining approval from mandated Partners and releasing payments in line with internal controls. Reconciling bank accounts daily and accurately entering receipts and payments onto the firms accounting system. Expenses and Invoicing Processing outofpocket and petty cash expense claims in accordance with the firms policies and procedures. Reviewing and posting invoices prepared by clientfacing teams onto the accounting system. Finance Administration Providing general finance administration support to the wider finance team as required. About you As a professional services firm, strong financial controls and compliance are fundamental to how we operate. While prior experience of working within a regulated or professional services environment would be advantageous, this is not essential, as full training will be provided. What Were Looking For : Our ideal candidate will bring around two years experience in a credit control or finance administration role. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate: A strong level of numeracy and confidence working with financial data. High levels of computer literacy, including proficient use of Microsoft Excel for reporting and analysis. An awareness of anti-money laundering, data protection and cyber security requirements relevant to a finance function. The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. A proactive approach to developing your understanding of finance procedures and systems within a professional services setting. Willingness to learn and use the firms finance systems and client management systems (full training will be provided). Strong relationshipbuilding skills, with a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering a high-quality service. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, wellorganised way of working.
