: Purpose: To be responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Collate and report on KPI's required by the business. To have full accountability and responsibility for all materials on site. Provide suppliers with relevant information, Forecasting etc. Aim to continually improve the function by regularly reviewing and monitoring processes, and implementing necessary improvements to give a more value added, and efficient service. Liaise with shipping agencies to ensure prompt delivery of goods. In conjunction with key stakeholders, ensure new product introduction and engineering changes are implemented smoothly and effectively. I.e. Right part 1st time. To produce Long Term Forecasts. Raise Purchase Orders where necessary. Maintain and update the relevant material planning data. Manage material and labour issues in order to prevent production downtime and optimise availability of finished parts to our customers. Build and maintain good working relationships with customers (both internal and external), Suppliers and other relevant Terex business units. Manage the development of supplier performance to meet business needs. Drive best practice in relation to Health and Safety within the department, ensuring all team members are able to complete their role in a safe manner. Full responsibility for management and control of the stores department. Responsibility for motivation of the Team, to ensure high performance working. Meet with suppliers to organise and agree costings, material supply etc. Load the Production Plan onto MRP. Identify Cost reduction opportunities and work to implement these into the business. Work with and support Group Suppliers in order to identify new sourcing opportunities. Produce "WIP" report. Maintain MRP systems. Responsible for the coaching and training of the team, to ensure motivation levels remain high, and skills gaps are addressed. Organise 3rd Party, deliveries and collections. Experience and Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years experience at 1st Line Management level, in a similar role within an Engineering environment. GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent). Knowledge Skills and Abilities Fully conversant with all aspects of the Supply Function, and proven experience within this area. Ability to utilise Microsoft Office and it's packages to the best of it's capability, and demonstrate the programs use within a Materials Management role. Able to use own initiative, to drive and develop a team, and resolves conflicts both within the team, and within the working environment. Ability to efficiently influence, at all levels, and develop effective working relationships with the necessary parties. Proven people manager with experience of developing a team got work to the best of their ability. Ability to make Cost Savings to a business through Continuous Improvement.
