Overall Purpose
* The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team to achieve sales targets, develop new business, maintain customer relationships, and enhance the overall customer experience.
* This role involves strategic planning, managing people, selling, leveraging technology, and improving processes.
* The Sales Manager is also responsible for training, coaching, and monitoring the performance of the sales team.
* The role will also form part of the Senior Leadership Team to take the business forward and be a strategic part of structuring the business for growth.
Key Duties
Senior Leadership Team:
* Serve on the Senior Leadership Team to grow the business and provide strategic input for all aspects of the business.
* Carry out reviews on process, procedure, documents to influence how the business operates to optimize growth, communication, customer engagement.
* Manage and inform teams on new directives from the board and the company directors.
* Support the directors in all aspects of the business strategy.
Sales Strategy And Planning
* Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company objectives.
* Analyse market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
* Assist in the preparation of sales forecasts and budgets.
Team Management
* Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
* Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
* Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
Sales Execution
* Lead and manage the sales team to achieve sales targets.
* Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts.
* Ensure timely and effective customer communications.
* Handle escalations and resolve customer issues efficiently.
Performance Monitoring And Reporting
* Track sales performance metrics and report on team achievements.
* Use CRM software to manage customer relationships and sales processes.
* Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Assist in monthly reporting to the board of directors including presentations at board meetings.
Customer Relationship Management
* Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
* Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
* Conduct regular business reviews with key customers.
Market And Product Knowledge
* Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products and services.
* Provide feedback to the product development team on customer needs and market gaps.
Process Improvement
* Identify and implement improvements in the sales process.
* Leverage technology to enhance sales productivity and customer engagement.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Requirements
* Experience in a senior management role and strategic planning.
* Proven track record and experience working in a similar role.
* Strong ability to communicate, inspire and motivate the team to achieve and exceed targets.
* Proven ability to drive the sales and marketing process from plan to close and leading the sales department to achieve their goals.
* Experience of managing data through a CRM system.
* Excellent people skills in mentoring, coaching.
* Clean driving license and willing to travel to customer sites and other company site.
