Overview
Senior Controller role at EMED Group based in Wellington, Somerset. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday plus 1 in 4 Saturdays. Operational hours are between 7:00 and 20:00 with 8-hour shifts. An on-call requirement will be discussed at interview.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing the Control Room and a small team of planners/dispatchers. Resolve issues where possible and escalate when necessary.
* Check and plan daily and future bookings within the Cleric controlling system, ensuring correct resourcing and informing all sub-contractors, taxi providers and volunteers where applicable.
* Manage dispatch and operational crews to ensure timely and efficient patient collection and delivery, aiming to meet contractual targets.
* Receive and handle requests for patient transport and queries regarding ambulance journeys, in accordance with service procedures and standing orders.
* Undertake general clerical duties including checking booking lists, data input, and completing ad-hoc forms/invoices as necessary.
* Maintain and enhance performance and quality of service offered to patients and customers.
* Handle telephone inquiries promptly and professionally, liaising with GPs, Nursing Homes, Hospital Clinics and Wards as needed.
* Maintain patient flow across control areas through effective liaison with colleagues and hospital staff and respond promptly to urgent problems and unplanned events.
Qualifications and Skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with experience dealing with customers or the public.
* Ability to work on own initiative and solve problems.
* Good organisational skills.
* Experience in managing or supervising a team is desirable.
* Able to make informed decisions and escalate issues appropriately.
