Geotechnical Engineer£40,000 - £50,000 + Company Car/Car AllowanceNorth West based construction projects - Liverpool, Manchester, Wirral, WiganExcellent contractual benefits and career prospectsPermanentWe have an exciting and exclusive role with our client for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their rapidly expanding North West Team.
As our clients new geo-technical engineer, you will be responsible for the study and review of the natural environment before one of their construction project takes place. This includes reviewing the surrounding minerals and materials and helping to design projects based on your findings.Your day to day responsibilities will be:Gathering and analysing dataLooking at the risk of geological hazards and making sure any factors affecting engineering works are identified and managedAdvising on procedures required and the suitability of construction materialsUsing specialist computer software to create analytical 2D and 3D modelsConsulting geological maps and aerial photographs to advise on site selectionAssisting with the design of built structures, using specialised computer software or calculationsPlanning detailed field investigations by drilling and analysing samples of deposits or bedrockSupervising ground investigations and budgetsAdvising on and testing a range of construction materials including sand, gravel, bricks and clayMaking recommendations on the proposed use of a siteManaging staff, including other engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, consultants and contractorsWorking to preserve and protect the physical environmentAnalysing sites and designs for environmentally sensitive developments, such as landfill.Your Qualifications and Experience2-5 years experience in a similar roleDegree educated in a relevant subject, such as:Geological engineeringGeologyGeotechnologyGeophysicsMineral or mining engineeringContractual Benefits£40,000 - £50,000 DOECompany car or car allowance24 days annual leave + Bank HolidaysMonday to Friday 7am start (if required on site)Attractive pension contributions
