Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Drainage Maintenance Engineer to cover planned maintenance, which will include jetting drains, interceptor servicing, pump station inspection, patch lining, using crawler units, dealing with dilapidation, cleaning gullies and ACOs, as well as maintaining and repairing urinals and toilets. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with blockages on both internal and external drainage in a reactive capacity. This is a mobile position; therefore, the successful candidate will be expected to work across a magnitude of our client’s sites across a variety of industries, with travel and some overnight stays. This role would suit candidates with several years of experience across the spectrum of the drainage and environmental compliance or maintenance sector. Must be capable to work individually or as part of a team. You will need to enjoy working outdoors in all weather and you must be physically fit as the job involves some heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
Responsibilities
* Identifying new business opportunities
* Building relationships with clients
* Carry out site visits and surveys, planned and reactive works
* Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients
* Pitching services and solutions to new and existing clients
* Liaising internally to ensure effective delivery of complex projects
* Possessing an understanding of Phosters services
* Adhere to all company standards including health, safety, quality and environmental
* Complete core on site detecting and mapping activities required for underground utility surveys including drainage and other utility surveys and topographical base plans
* Sourcing, studying, and interpreting existing drawings and building specifications to identify any existing layouts for pipes and drainage systems
* Carry out research using equipment such as CCTV cameras and CAT scanning equipment
* Complete field surveys
* Work to a high level of accuracy and be able to write and review technical reports to a high specification
* Compiling recommendations for further works based on site surveys and liaising with other engineers, contract managers and the business development team to follow up on opportunities identified
* Reporting to client project managers with professionalism
* Assist with coaching and training of new colleagues
* Ad-hoc duties as requested by Management and Operational teams
* The role will require travel and occasional working away from home
Qualifications / Experience
Experience in plumbing would be an advantage. Good abilities with digital equipment are required. Experience working with local Water Authorities would be desirable.

Applicants must be aware that all roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks either before or upon commencement of employment. To drive a Phosters vehicle, you must be over the age of 21 with a minimum of 6 months driving experience and hold a full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
