We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sexual and Reproductive Health SpecialtyDoctorfor this new Specialist Grade post within the Sexual Health, Contraception & HIV team in Brighton – the first UK Fast Track City.
This is a part time post(5.5 sessions/week)joining the teamproviding integrated Sexual Health, Contraception and HIV services within the Brighton arm of University Hospitals Sussex NHS trust.
The post will encompass specialist contraception and sexual health clinical work, supervision and training of nursing, junior medical staff, medical students as well as external primary care staff groups. The postholder should alsoparticipate in service improvement and any relevantdepartmental research to the post.
Main duties of the job
The main component of the post will be supporting the delivery ofintegrated Sexual health & contraception (SHAC) clinics at both sites including LARC provision. SHAC clinics are run on a senior medical model supporting an MDT of specialty & junior medical Drs, a mix of Band 5-7 nurses, clinic support workers and Band 6/7 health advisers with staff seeing patients according to their level of experience. The post holder will be part of the senior team and lead thegeneral sexual health clinic when required.
The post holder will be expected to deliver expert care in contraception within the service, providing leadership and clinical oversight within this area of practice. They will be working alongsidethe consultant responsible for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). As part of thisthe post holder will be expected to contribute to the running of the complex coil clinics and should ideally have experience of doing these clinics including the use of ultrasound.
The postholder would also be expected to deliver professional training and join the local team ofcollege of sexual and reproductive health registered trainers (CRTs)to help organise and deliver training for the DCSRH and LoC IUT and LoC SDI as well as SRH Essentials courses.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. ·Basic Medical degree
2. ·Postgraduate qualification MCSRH or its recognised equivalent
3. ·Full registration and a licence to practice with the General Medical Council
4. ·Completed a minimum of 12 years medical/dental work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical/dental qualification, of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’ experience in a relevant specialty from other medical/dental grades including from overseas will also be accepted
