Job Description
As Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for managing Supply Chain resources across the UK to ensure the skills, capability, and processes needed to support the business’s financial and strategic goals. You will work closely with the Operations Director on long-term people development, process and technology deployment, and resource planning within the business unit.
During your initial months, your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing and implementing the SCM strategy to meet business requirements and customer deliverables, while monitoring departmental performance against goals.
2. Ensuring the supply chain department meets or exceeds budget, cost, and efficiency targets (KPIs) aligned with business objectives.
3. Managing and fostering key supplier relationships and collaboration.
4. Providing leadership and direction to the supply chain team to promote a customer and delivery-focused approach.
5. Serving as the main contact for material budgets, UMC, MEAC, and related information for the business unit.
Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates should demonstrate:
* Experience in procurement and subcontract management within a technical engineering environment; defence, aerospace, or automotive sectors are preferred.
* Experience managing teams across multiple locations.
* Experience operating in both tactical (immediate needs) and strategic (long-term goals) environments.
* Leadership skills through influence and effective conflict resolution.
* Strong communication skills from operational to executive levels.
Additional Information
This role manages teams at our Hastings and Oakdale sites. Regular presence at both sites is expected; flexible working arrangements are available, including remote work and travel. The salary range is £74,400 to £93,000, plus benefits.
