Position: Technical Services Manager / Maintenance Contract Manager
Type: Permanent
Location: North West - Manchester / Merseyside, etc.
Salary: £52,000 - £53,000 plus package
Hours: Mon-Fri 40 hours per week
We are recruiting an experienced Technical Services Manager / Maintenance Contract Manager to join a successful maintenance and facilities management team. The role involves overseeing multi-site estates and sites.
The position offers a salary of 52-53k basic plus car/car allowance, with Mon-Fri days, 40 hours per week, 25 days holiday plus statutory holidays, company pension, and healthcare scheme.
The role is based in the North West with travel to some sites in the Midlands. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the responsibilities include managing all aspects of M&E building services and Hard FM contract operations, supervising maintenance engineers, handling small works quotations, supplier management, and collaborating with clients. The manager will also monitor service performance, liaise with sites, ensure contractual adherence and compliance, identify cost savings, and unlock value.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Coordinate and manage all building services operations across multiple contracts.
2. Manage all PPM and reactive maintenance schedules.
3. Plan and implement small works projects.
4. Review service performance and develop improvement action plans.
5. Provide escalation support for service performance issues.
6. Monitor and control SLA agreements; evaluate KPIs and contract progress.
7. Responsible for P&L management.
8. Identify, price, and quote small works.
9. Assist in the mobilization of new contracts.
10. Ensure compliance management.
11. Manage maintenance engineers and liaise with helpdesk.
12. Conduct client site visits and develop relationships.
13. Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Requirements:
* Experience in multi-site contract management.
* Building services engineering background (Mechanical or Electrical, HVAC, etc.).
* Experience with compliance oversight.
* Excellent client-facing skills.
* Experience managing M&E engineers and PPM schedules.
* Highly flexible and mobile, with a valid driving license.
* Experience with Performance and Job Management systems in the Building Services/FM industry.
* Intermediate IT skills.
* Strong customer service skills and a service-oriented attitude.
* Background in Building Services and Hard FM.
* Negotiation skills with the ability to deal with junior and senior staff.
* Self-motivated and resourceful team player.
