We are looking for someone to join our Team and lead our brilliant Team at Donnington Support Unit. The Donnington Support Unit is geographically distant from our main Headquarters. You will be empowered with delivering the outputs of your position. This is an exciting time, to be joining Headquarters JMC Centre whilst continuing to delivery operational outputs to our dependent Units, military personnel, and their families. Key responsibilities: Line management responsibilities for Civilian and Military staff: 1, Higher Executive Officer (HEO), 1, Administrative Officer (AO), 1 Administrative Assistant (AA) Counter signing officer (CSO) for 1 x Executive Officer (EO) and 5 civilian Industrial staff. The first reporting officer for DSU Military Staff and Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) (1 x Warrant Officer, 5 x Senior Non-Commissioned Officers) and 2nd Reporting Officer for MPGS Junior Non-Commissioned Officers and Private soldiers. Full responsibility for the day-to-day management and control of Donnington Support Unit, leading all aspects of the delivery of security, administrative support for Military Units, management of Logistic support. Management of the Military Estate, Infrastructure management liaising with contractor and Defence Infrastructure Staff on both hard and soft Facilities matters. You shall have responsibility for management of stores accounts and the inventory of technical and non-technical equipment, transport, and equipment care. Provide Donnington Station military units and personnel with effective and timely administrative support. Overseeing all HR functions for the military staff, including pay, annual reports, managing discipline issues, providing welfare support to all personnel. Act as the Senior Fund Manager for all Donnington Station Non-Public Fund Accounts. Responsible for managing all military and non-public financial accounts on station and bidding for funds from defence sources and charities where necessary. Coordinate Donnington Stations externally facing processes, liaising with local authorities regarding local issues and development opportunities. Leading on media to inform the local community and the presence which the station has locally with Community Engagement activities, social events at a geographically remote station. Lead and coordinate Station Welfare Support for Donnington Station units. This includes providing welfare and wellbeing support to all of the soldiers and when necessary, their families. Person specification Essential skills required: Previous experience working as a Team Leader Able to quickly build good working relationships with a variety of partners, both internal and external to the organisation and be able to provide support to a wide range of people of different backgrounds Good Information Technology skills, including basic Microsoft Office 365, and have excellent time management skills Ability to use initiative to prioritise work with minimal direction whilst maintaining an excellent attention to detail Motivated and driven to deliver a multi-functional output Upbeat, organised, and enthusiastic Strong communication skills and able to act on own initiative Confident and can exercise good judgement, knowledge and evidence, providing accurate, timely and practical advice and direction whilst sharing their knowledge and experience The ability to learn new skills whilst working at pace as the Headquarters grows and establishes itself in its new role Well organised and strong communication skills in both written and verbal form Desirable skills: Experience working within the Ministry of Defence Previous Military experience would be an advantage Experience of working in a lively and ambitious Headquarters Behaviours We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process: Communicating and Influencing Changing and Improving Leadership Making Effective Decisions We only ask for evidence of these behaviours on your application form: Communicating and Influencing Benefits Alongside your salary of 36,530, Ministry of Defence contributes 10,582 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
