About the job
Compton is launching a new Business Rates service, building on its strong, modern brand. You will join as a deputy in the department to help establish and grow this new team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the department's processes and contribute to its growth. The service will be a key part of the business, with leads from reputable companies already working with others in the industry.
We seek a RICS qualified surveyor with a proven track record in managing the CCA process from start to finish, eager to expand their expertise.
Job responsibilities
* Manage the CCA process internally, handling appeal workloads
* Develop framework arguments and appeal strategies for standard and complex cases
* Assist in marketing and social media engagement (being comfortable on camera is a plus)
* Create a pipeline of fee-generating work and support business development
* Build and maintain a client base for appeals and rating lists
* Provide client reports and forecasts as needed
* Assist clients with financial planning and budgeting
* Contribute to new revenue streams
* Stay updated on case law changes
* Maintain strong relationships with councils and the Valuation Office
* Bring new ideas and identify opportunities
* Participate in hiring and team building
Qualifications
Looking for an experienced rating surveyor with a successful record in managing the CCA process and a desire for growth.
* Experience in a rating advisory firm
* Proven CCA work experience
* Ability to develop client relationships
* Strong negotiation skills with the Valuation Office Agency
