This is a demanding yet rewarding senior role on the Daily Mail that’s ideal for either an experienced editor looking for an exciting new challenge or an ambitious and talented commissioning editor. The ideal candidate will have experience in editing or deputy editing quality newspaper copy. They should excel in generating, commissioning and editing innovative news-driven female-focused features and be able to work under pressure.
Main Responsibilities
* Content Development: Create compelling news-driven Femail features for both the paper and online.
* Management of Production: Oversee the timely production of high-quality content, ensuring adherence to editorial standards, deadlines and style guidelines.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other editorial teams to optimize cross-platform content integration and audience engagement.
Person Specification
* Proven experience as an editor on a newspaper with a good understanding of editorial processes and newsroom dynamics.
* Strong editorial judgment and the ability to drive original, thought-provoking content.
* Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A passion for journalism, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high editorial standards.
