Operating extensively across the food, manufacturing, and energy generation sectors, they have built a strong reputation over nearly 30 years and are now seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
The Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions. Using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, you will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant electrical documentation to support a wide range of automation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce panel layouts and bills of materials (BOMs)
* Carry out LV distribution and cable calculations
* Create electrical schematic diagrams
* Develop instrument loop diagrams
* Produce PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules
* Design machinery safety circuits and complete risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849 / 60261
* Compile and maintain technical documentation
About You:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Clean driving licence
* Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Comfortable working to deadlines and under time constraints
* Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings
* Good understanding of industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, etc.)
* Experience in safety systems design and programming is highly advantageous
* Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs preferred (training available for other systems)
* Experience working in an engineering environment
