Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEND & Challenging Behaviour

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work in a SEND school in Harrogate, supporting children aged 2–19 with PMLD, ASC, and elements of challenging behaviour.
Relevant experience or strong transferable skills are essential.
Staff are highly skilled in supporting children and young people to flourish and achieve their full potential. The academy prides itself on being a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for both students and staff.
The normal working pattern for this school is 8:45 to 3:50pm and would be a long-term role given a successful trial day.
The ideal candidate will have:
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
* Have experience working in a transferable role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Some experience working with or alongside pupils that have SEND
* A compassionate, resilient and patient personality
* A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
* Be familiar with some tailored interventions and programmes that are used to support children and young people with PMLD, ASC and/or challenging behaviour
