Referment is partnering with Kilnbridge to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor, a pivotal role ensuring the highest safety standards across diverse construction projects in London.
As a Health & Safety Advisor at Kilnbridge, you will be a crucial part of their commitment to operational excellence and safety. This role involves working across various dynamic construction projects throughout London, ensuring robust health and safety practices are implemented and maintained. You will play a key role in fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Travel between sites will be supported by a company car or travel allowance.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
* Develop, implement, and review site-specific risk assessments and method statements.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending effective corrective and preventative actions.
* Deliver comprehensive health and safety training and inductions to site personnel and contractors.
* Ensure strict adherence to all relevant UK health and safety legislation and company policies.
* Advise project teams and management on best practices for health, safety, and environmental protection.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date H&S records, reports, and documentation.
* Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture across all operational sites.
* Assist in the development and continuous improvement of H&S management systems and procedures.
* Monitor and evaluate contractor health and safety performance.
About You
* Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or Manager, with a career demonstrably focused on the construction or heavy infrastructure sectors.
* Significant UK-based work experience is required to ensure a thorough understanding of current UK construction regulations and site practices.
* A stable employment history demonstrating commitment and longevity in previous roles is essential.
* Advanced health and safety qualifications are required (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, CMIOSH status, or NVQ Level 6).
* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* Willingness to travel regularly between various London sites. Please note, a driving license is not a requirement for this role.
* Proficiency in using H&S management systems and reporting tools.
* Experience working for major UK construction or infrastructure contractors is highly advantageous.
