What will you be doing?
As Assistant Procurement Manager, you will provide procurement support to ensure that Tate delivers an exceptional level of service for all procurement and supply-chain activities. You will be passionate about building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, and invest in developing the Procurement Team around you.
Key objectives in your role as Assistant Procurement Manager include:
Day-to-day procurement and supply chain management, ensuring all raw materials are on-site at the right time, in the right quantities, at the correct commercial pricing.
Supporting the Procurement team to ensure all day-to-day procurement tasks are completed efficiently and in full.
Assisting in the management and leadership of the Procurement Team with a people-centric approach.
Ensuring supplier partnerships continue to be developed and onsite/offsite meetings continue structurally and consistently.
Driving cost efficiencies, and support strategic sourcing decisions. This role is responsible for analysing spend patterns, supplier performance, and market trends to identify opportunities for savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
Support supplier performance reviews with actionable data and insights.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement activities with operational goals.
Understanding of sustainability and ESG considerations in procurement.
Holding a good understanding of Tate products and their technical specifications.
Working closely with the Technical Team on all aspects of our commodity make-up and design.
Gaining a good understanding of all commodity markets aligned to the Tate product portfolio.
Lead supplier due diligence processes for onboarding and compliance
Acting as an ambassador for Tate at all times.
Any other ad-hoc duties deemed necessary.
Compliance:
Adhere to the Company's compliance obligations, policies, processes, and procedures.
Report compliance concerns, issues, and failures.
Participate in training as required.
What do you need?
You should:
Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Procurement within a manufacturing environment. Holding a CIPS qualification would be advantageous.
Have good and demonstratable knowledge of overall procurement methodologies and best practice.
Be able to demonstrate excellent commercial acumen.
A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, who is passionate about building and nurturing relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
Able to manage your time effectively, with the ability to set objectives and prioritise workloads for yourself and others.
Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
Be PC literate with a proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and SAP.
Prepared to travel as and when required and hold a valid driving licence.
