Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (ME) to join our team. The ME will be responsible for the lifecycle of mechanical systems for Rockland products and equipment, from conceptual design to development, testing, documentation, release to production, and maintenance. The role involves collaboration with the engineering team to develop new products and providing technical support for Rockland’s products.
Position Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* 3 to 5 years of experience in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical components and assemblies
* Experience in the marine industry/environment is strongly preferred
* Registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) is required
* Strong knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
Duties and Responsibilities
* Design and maintain mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, including implementing improvements and part revisions
* Test, troubleshoot, and verify mechanical designs using CAD tools and physical prototypes
* Create documentation such as design choices, testing plans/results, manufacturing packages, user guides/manuals, and technical notes
* Provide technical support for mechanical components and assemblies
Working Conditions
Office and workshop environments, including occasional use of hand/power tools and hazardous equipment or chemicals. The role may require working independently with a high degree of autonomy.
