Signing on bonus (£2,000): A new employee (from 5 May 2023) will be immediately paid a £500 bonus. After 3 months of continuous service with Halifax Fan, with no unauthorized absences, a further bonus of £500 will be paid.
After an additional 3 months (6 months in total), with no unauthorized absences, they will receive a further £1,000 bonus.
Purpose of role:
To maintain and repair the factory manufacturing equipment.
Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety (QCDS) responsibilities:
* Quality: Know the design sold, and ensure the tested assembly meets that design 100% of the time. If unsure, STOP, clarify, and disposition appropriately.
* Cost: Work closely with all other departments to share concerns related to Build Quality, and seek systemic corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Delivery: Minimize downtime.
* Safety: Maintain a no-compromise Health and Safety compliant work environment. Ensure your workspace is 5S compliant.
Key Requirements and Responsibilities:
* Service fans and assemblies located in the factory.
* Install, maintain, and service machinery in Halifax Fan facilities, and conduct necessary work to maintain Halifax Fan facilities, sites, and customer sites as required.
* Conduct customer site and product surveys in the field if required.
* Test products (fans and assemblies) and ensure they conform to the standards and specifications sold to the customer.
* Be a skilled fitter and competent for 415V 3-phase electrical work.
* Participate fully as a member of the site team, occasionally working off-site as required.
* Maintain the skills necessary to complete assigned tasks.
* Be aware of all applicable work instructions and procedures, and ensure discipline in their use.
* Own the quality of your work.
* Never compromise safety. If you see or feel a situation may compromise safety, STOP and report. Ensure processes, tools, and capacities used allow for safe completion of work.
* Use 5S boards, visual postings, and team meetings to maintain awareness and transparency. Continuously review, measure, and optimize methods to meet commitments and maintain total order fulfillment cycle time.
Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities required:
* 5 years or similar experience in a mechanical/electrical site engineering role.
* Ability to work independently using written or verbal instructions.
* Understanding of electrical compliance regulations.
* Electrical certification, with 17th Edition as a minimum.
* Full UK driving license.
* Desirable: 10 years' experience in a similar role.
