The Role
1. Engineering R&D, including measuring, recording, analysing, and reporting experiments on prototype systems.
2. Maintain an organised and efficient engineering laboratory for experimental development of products.
3. Develop and set up new production lines once prototypes are approved.
4. Familiarity with assembly, installation, control, and troubleshooting of existing products.
5. Support the engineering design team with assembly, testing, and problem-solving for new products.
6. Operate and maintain research lab equipment and associated software.
7. Conduct experiments to assess technical performance and reliability.
8. Record experimental data in an online laboratory notebook and maintain it.
9. Analyze data using Excel and report findings to management and customers.
10. Occasional site visits and foreign travel may be required.
The Candidate
* Degree in an engineering discipline (essential).
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (essential).
* Previous experience in a similar role (essential).
Required Skills and Experience
* Proficiency in MS Excel and Word; knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
* Ability to analyze results and communicate findings effectively.
* Problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
* Self-motivated, organised, and effective team player.
* Experience in electrical/mechanical assembly, understanding of engineering standards, manufacturing principles, and basic health and safety awareness are advantageous.
The Package
The salary range is from £30,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and abilities.
