Job Description

The Faculty of Business and Law, based in the £35 million Hugh Aston building, is a global community of over 8,000 students and a strong hub for employability, research and innovation.
The Director of Faculty Operations will provide effective operational leadership of faculty operations. Reporting to the PVC & Dean, you will support the delivery of high‑quality teaching, research, knowledge exchange and innovation activities across the faculty. Your role includes leadership of business planning, performance monitoring and strategic advice on financial planning, resource deployment, risk management and compliance. You will further lead and develop a high‑performing professional services workforce, ensuring clear objectives, strong performance standards and efficient, technology‑enabled processes.
Responsibilities
* Provide operational leadership of faculty operations and support delivery of strategic objectives.
* Lead business planning, performance monitoring, financial planning and resource deployment.
* Manage risk, compliance and provide strategic advice to senior leaders.
* Lead and develop a high‑performing professional services workforce.
* Commission activity, influence policy, shape operational priorities and support delivery of the Faculty’s strategic objectives.
Ideal Candidate
* Significant senior leadership experience within a large, complex organisation – ideally in Higher Education.
* Degree level or higher equivalent.
* Proven track record in operational leadership, strategic planning, budget and resource management, and leading organisational change.
* Strong understanding of academic quality, learning and teaching needs, research and innovation needs and student experience.
* Excellent people management skills with high emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex challenges with confidence.
* Strong communication, analytical capability and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience with accreditation processes, strategic partnerships or commercial and enterprise activity would be advantageous.
