As a Cloud Architect at Waters Corporation, you will have the opportunity to drive the software architecture for the next generation of chromatography data systems. You’ll architect scalable, multi-tenant SaaS solutions, incorporating systems design and security, all while having first-hand access to real customers as they share feedback on their needs for the type of system used in 90% of all pharmaceutical production. You’ll play a critical part in creating the tools to ensure safety in vaccines, medicines, food, and water. Responsibilities • Create and document architectural designs following input from stakeholders • Act as architectural design authority and enforce adherence to high level design and implementation best practices • Establish best practices for AWS architectures, security, and DevSecOps • Codify use of hexagonal architecture in development practice • Socialize the architecture, train team members, and update stakeholders on key architecture changes • Act as a consultant to teams involved in implementing architectural designs • Produce proofs of concept in high-risk areas to de-risk architecture • Resolve challenges in complex technical issues • Seek out and provide guidance on improving engineering practices and technologies • Mentor others on architectural concepts and infrastructure Qualifications What will make you a successful Cloud Architect at Waters: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • Solid experience in application architecture, database architecture, and security • Proven experience designing and delivering cloud platform solutions, AWS Well-Architected Framework • Domain-Driven Design of microservices, polyglot storage, Data Meshes • API design • Proficiency in designing Multi-tenant SaaS applications with high-volume transactions, • Strong understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and testing methodologies • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations • Extensive experience with .NET and .NET Core Preferred Qualifications • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification • Familiar with TOGAF 9 or ISO 42010:2011
