Who we're looking for:

This role is suitable for a recent school or college leaver with good communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. You should be IT literate, reliable, and eager to build a career in administration.

We pride ourselves on our long history serving the local community and preparing our students for their futures as leaders in the 21st century. As a relatively small secondary school, we care for each child as an individual, providing a friendly, nurturing, and welcoming environment for learning for all students, regardless of background or prior achievement. We aim to equip students with the skills, experiences, and qualifications necessary for them to take charge of their own destinies.

Our focus on high academic standards has placed us among the top-performing schools in the area based on sustained improvement.

We strive to keep our core values at the heart of all we do, with a collective mission of inspiring excellence

Beyond high-quality teaching, we are passionate about providing excellent enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom to help students develop their interests and talents.

A positive growth mindset underpins our approach to developing a learning culture where effort, resilience, and learning from mistakes are key to achieving outstanding attainment.

Shaw Education Trust comprises a diverse and growing group of schools, including primary, secondary, and special schools, all working together to improve the lives of young people in our communities. Sponsored by Shaw Trust, a charity organization focused on transforming lives, we are dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their starting point in life.

In our secondary schools, we innovate curriculum design to ensure breadth and ambition for all students, regardless of their starting points and barriers. We seek to engage students with a curriculum that is bold, exciting, and meaningful, including extended school days, vocational pathways supported by employers and universities, and initiatives to develop work readiness.

We value collaboration across schools, aiming to create a world-class curriculum rich in knowledge and skills while allowing local flexibility. This approach reduces planning workload and fosters strong relationships with pupils.

Employee benefits include:

* Support staff only: full-time, all-year employment with generous holiday entitlement (37 days rising to 39 days after 5 years, including Bank Holidays)
* Electric Car Scheme
* Access to Medicash Health & Wellbeing Plan
* Discount schemes for teachers and support staff
* Free eye tests
* Cycle to work scheme
* Opportunities for professional growth through our Institute of Education and other programs

Our people are key to our success. We offer a range of training courses, including National Professional Qualifications (NPQH, NPQSL, NPQEYL, NPQLL, NPQLT, NPQLTD, NPQLBC) delivered in partnership with Ambition Institute, and access to NPQEL for leaders.

Support includes:

* Leadership and subject-specific support
* Guidance from former HMIs and Ofsted inspectors
* Access to the Trust’s Institute of Education and SCITT
* Opportunities to work across different schools
* Online courses and placement projects

Working hours: 37 hours/week, 38 weeks term-time plus 5 inset days (total 39 weeks/year)

Contract: Fixed-term, up to 24 months

Madeley School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment and undergo appropriate vetting, including online checks and a DBS disclosure.

This position may be filled before the closing date as applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. We encourage early applications.
