TheARDT works across Secondary Care, Primary Care and Wider Care settings,delivering a variety of Commercial and Non-Commercial research studies andtrials. The Clinical Manager post would ideally suit someone who hasexperience of leading a team in a dynamic environment and/or experience ofdelivering clinical research at a senior level.
Thispost is employed through Leeds Teaching Hospitals but covers the WestYorkshire region, which is one of three sub-regions within the Yorkshire andHumber RRDN region. The operational base will be Leeds City Centre.
Thefollowing areas of expertise are advantageous however not essential,Commercial Research Delivery with IMP administration, Mental Health,Community or District Nursing, Supporting those living with Dementia andPrisons.

Main duties of the job
Therole will mainly be responsible for
Theoperational management and leadership of the West Yorkshire ARDT.
Leadon the contractual arrangements for ARDT staff deployed across NHS and widerhealth and care settings, establishing appropriate channels for maintainingprofessional accountability.
OverallLine management for the West Yorkshire based ARDT.
Coverfor other Clinical Managers in the South Yorkshire and Humber & NorthYorkshire sub-regions as required.
Plan,manage, adjust and deliver a broad range of complex projects, involvingmultiple agencies and individuals and a broad range of activities, to tightdeadlines.
Thepost holder will be able to communicate confidently in tasks such as publicspeaking, influencing, relationship management, project management and willhave good presentation skills.
Regularlymonitor and review the workload of the team to ensure it is manageable andthat there is a reasonable delegation of work.
Supportingthe team to maintain clinical standards and the team members individualpersonal professional development.
Inline with the NMC code of conduct, being participant focussed by acting as anadvocate for research participants, duty of care and ensuring participantsafety and providing a positive research experience.
Activelysupporting the delivery of research across a variety of settings includingCommercial and Non-Commercial research.

Job responsibilities
Therole involves leading a team of multi professionals to deliver NationalInstitute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN)Portfolio studies across varied health and care settings. As team manager you will be responsible fora team of regionally based, flexible, multi-disciplinary staff who aredeployed to support the delivery of NIHR RDN portfolio studies across a rangeof health and care specialties and settings. As team leader you will beresponsible for the planning, development and implementation of the NIHR RDNportfolio that reflects the community, with a focus on the health and socialcare issues of the population within the region. This post has a dualfunction and the post holder will either manage and lead research deliveryand/ or research support for wider care settings dependent upon regionalneed. This will include (but not limited to) delegation, supervision,provision of education and support, appraisals.
Therole will work alongside different professions from multiple organisationsinvolved in health and care research and will be an integral part of theAgile Research Delivery Team. The Team Manager will be responsible for delivering the NIHR ENRICH Network and providing an enhanced study supportoffering for social and wider care settings. The post holder will workclosely with the Agile Research Delivery Team Manager(s)and be accountable tothe Agile Research Delivery Team Senior (Clinical) Manager

Experience

* Significant knowledge of the governance and legislative frameworks for conducting clinical research studies, including UK Policy Framework for Health and Care Research, UK Clinical Trials Regulations
* Significant knowledge and experience of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle including experience of the set up of clinical research studies in a health and care setting
* Extensive or significant experience of the care of patients/participants enrolled in research studies
Qualifications
* NMC or HCPC
* Educated to or working towards postgraduate degree level in a science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of research trials or equivalent experience/training
* Qualification (or working towards) in leadership and management
