Job Description: Weekend Receptionist Parkside Care Home, Parkside Road, Reading RG30 2DP CQC rating: Good Carehome.co.uk rating: 9.6 / 10 Salary - £12.60 - £13.60 per hour Permanent contract Hours - 16 hours per week - 8 hours Saturday & 8 hours Sunday Parkside care home offers comfortable nursing and residential care for anyone over 18. Short stay options are also available if you’re in need of recovery or some respite. The home is also able to offer palliative and Parkinson’s care. The purpose-built home is spacious, bright and airy, with pleasant and well-tended gardens. Being on a leafy street, surrounded by private homes, means the home enjoys a real neighbourhood feel, too. At Parkside they put a real focus on making the care person-centred, upholding the resident’s dignity, respect and independence. The activity coordinators help make sure there’s plenty of fun things for everyone to do. All bedrooms have ensuite facilities with a 24-hour call system, many with views of the surrounding gardens. Parkside prides itself on the balanced and nutritious dishes that are served to residents at mealtimes. The meals, which are freshly prepared every day, are suited to each resident’s individual food preferences and choices. Helping residents to recover or retain their independence is especially important here. As part of this, residents are encouraged to make friends and to choose interesting things to do – perhaps even learning something a new skill. Weekly clubs also allow residents to get to know each other and remain active and engaged in hobbies that they are passionate about. Residents also have access to an onsite hairdresser and visiting mobile library. We make health happen Here at Bupa we support those when they need it the most. You’ll help us make health happen by: Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the home Taking responsibility for managing new enquiries Providing advice and support both face to face and over the phone Conducting show-arounds within the care home Supporting the Home Manager and Administrator with clerical duties such as maintaining paper work and filing Dealing with enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: You’ve worked as a Receptionist before with experience in providing excellent customer service, you'll have a friendly manner both face to face and over the phone. You’re approachable and organised and have the ability to build strong relationships with our residents, their families and internal teams. Dedicated and efficient with an ability to handle a varied workload, but importantly, your caring attitude underpins everything you do - to make a real difference to people’s lives.
