Professional Opportunity: Rural Surveyor – Hereford Office

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified and motivated Rural Surveyor to join our established and dynamic team based in the historic cathedral city of Hereford.

Established in 1862, the firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering a comprehensive range of professional services, including estate and commercial agency, auctioneering, and rural consultancy.

Role Overview

We are seeking a surveyor with demonstrable experience across a broad spectrum of rural practice. The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, and to contribute proactively to business development and client engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertaking valuations for a variety of purposes, including farms, land, residential, commercial and development land
* Advising on compensation claims and compulsory purchase matters
* Providing strategic advice on option and promotion agreements for development opportunities
* Managing land tenure arrangements, including Farm Business Tenancies, licences, contract farming agreements etc
* Offering consultancy on family farming matters and landlord-tenant relations across rural, residential, and commercial sectors
* Supporting clients with agricultural subsidy and grant schemes and planning-related matters
* Overseeing estate management functions
* Facilitating the sale, purchase, and letting of land and farms

Candidate Profile

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

* Registered Valuer status (or completion of Valuation to Level 3 within the APC framework)
* Possession of a full UK driving licence
* Minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience
* Membership of the CAAV is desirable but not essential

Remuneration and Benefits

* Competitive salary, commensurate with experience plus car allowance
* Full payment of RICS and CAAV subscriptions, along with training and CPD expenses
* Annual leave entitlement commencing at 20 days, in addition to statutory bank holidays
* Work based pension scheme
