Salary: up to £65,000 + 10% bonus and benefits

Front-End Software Engineer
As a Front-End Software Engineer at Vaarst, you will join our new UI team of 3 to improve and build the front-ends for existing Vaarst products including our AI data platform and 3D visualisations. Working primarily in Typescript and React, you will employ good software engineering practices, to mature and implement new features.
To be successful you’ll need to have expertise in developing and testing solutions to complex problems and skills using web 3D technologies such as ThreeJS and WebGL We’ll welcome your ideas & input and support your development. In addition, this is an incredible opportunity to help further the transition to renewable energy.
Vaarst is an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely to change as we grow, upon joining your objectives and responsibilities will include:
* Building and improving a high quality and user-friendly front end for our existing products
* Collaborating on technical discussions and decisions on front end development
* Modifying and testing changes to previously developed products
* Breaking down and managing requirements
* Contribute to and uphold agile development practices
You should apply if you have:
(we know it’s tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You don’t have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role):
* Experience writing and maintaining production-level code
* Experience developing and testing solutions to complex problems, in Typescript and ReactJS
* Experience using 3D rendering technologies, such as ThreeJS and WebGL
* Experience leveraging APIs and data sources to build interactive and engaging applications
* Experience using Git & GitHub, CI/CD toolchains and Docker containers
Grow together with Vaarst, you may have some knowledge of the following, if you don’t these are areas you’ll develop in.
* Python, using Django or Flask
* End-to-end testing, such as: Cypress, Selenium and Playwright
* Working with video and 3D datasets, including mesh and point clouds.
* Writing custom WebGL Shaders.
* Web-based desktop frameworks, such as Electron.
* Redux and web bundlers, such as Webpack
* Interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence and robotics
