Job Description:
* Full Registration with United Kingdom General Dental Council GDC
* On the specialist GDC list in Restorative Dentistry or within 6 months of eligibility for inclusion.
* Inter-Collegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent.
* Possession of certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CSST in Restorative Dentistry
* Masters Degree (or equivalent) in a restorative clinical discipline
Experience and Training
Essential
* Successful completion of SAC approved 5-year training programme in Restorative Dentistry, or within 6 months of completion or equivalent.
* Current holders of NHS or honorary NHS Consultant contracts in Restorative dentistry are eligible to apply.
* European or overseas candidates would need to show equivalence to the formal 5-year training pathway in Restorative Dentistry.
Research and Development
Desirable
* Higher Degree (MSc or PhD)
Teaching
Essential
* Commitment to dental education of undergraduates and postgraduates.
* Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience.
* Understanding of the management responsibilities of NHS consultants.
* Administrative or management roles during training of primary or secondary care teams.
* Recognised qualification/certificate course in management.
Skills, Ability, and Knowledge

* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and clinical colleagues.
