We’re working exclusively with a well-established, evergreen VC fund investing in early-stage and growth-stage, post-revenue UK tech businesses across fintech, business services and health tech. They’ve built a strong track record over a number of years and continue to deploy capital consistently across software-led businesses.
This is a hands-on Investment Manager role in a small team. You’ll be involved from origination through to execution and then working with founders post-investment. There’s also a clear path into board-level exposure fairly early on.
What you’ll be doing:
* Getting involved in live deals end-to-end - modelling, diligence, structuring, getting things over the line
* Building your own pipeline of opportunities and developing relationships across the ecosystem
* Leading parts of the due diligence process and writing investment papers
* Working with portfolio companies - sometimes strategic, sometimes just helping them navigate the chaos that comes with scaling
* Attending events, meeting founders, and being a visible part of the network
* Pitching in across the fund where needed (it’s a small team - no one is too senior for the odd random task)
* Contributing to how the fund thinks about AI in investing, which is becoming a bigger part of their process
What they’re looking for:
* 3-6 years’ experience in VC, corporate finance, growth equity or PE.
* Likely coming from a Big Four background (ACA or similar), though not essential
* Solid deal exposure - you’ve actually been involved in transactions, not just observed them
* Strong analytical skills but also able to communicate clearly (especially in writing)
* Comfortable dealing with founders - asking the right questions without killing the relationship
* An interest in tech - and ideally curiosity around AI
About you:
* You’re proactive and don’t need constant direction
* You’re comfortable in a smaller, less structured environment
* You enjoy the mix of analytical work and people-facing work
* You’re naturally curious - the type who’ll go down a rabbit hole on a new trend or tool
* You can handle a bit of pressure when deals are live
The details:
* London-based (4 days in the office, Fridays from home)
* Clear progression into board observer/director roles
