We're hiring Control Room Operators for a well established, value driven, equal opportunities employer near Solihull. Working in the control centre (a dynamic and supportive team environment) you'll oversee live traffic activity across multiple sites, making real time decisions to keep everything running smoothly. It's a role that demands focus, clear thinking and a cool head under pressure.
Standard hours Monday to Friday 7am-3pm and 11am-7pm. Flexible part time shifts available including 4-6 hours per day, reduced days or weekend only work
Duties
* Keeping traffic flowing smoothly by monitoring multiple junctions in real time (think of it as air traffic control, but for roads)
* Using your growing knowledge of Traffic Management Plans to anticipate congestion before it happens and help design safer, more efficient routes
* Analysing on the ground traffic data and turning it into useful insights for clients
* Acting as the go-to link between engineers, contractors and local authorities to ensure every signal change is smart, timely and efficient
* Staying in tune with local policies and operational procedures to make sure the business is always one step ahead and fully compliant
* Spotting opportunities to do things better whether it's improving a process, tweaking traffic flow, or suggesting smarter interventions.
Essential
Key Skills/Experience Required: Evidence of previous work experience. Ability to complete shift working patterns
Desirable
* Experience in a traffic monitoring, control room, signals or highways environment
* Traffic Management background
* Computer literacy
* Ability to demonstrate confidence and professionalism even in challenging situations
* Organised, competent and decisive in prioritising workload while monitoring multiple sites
* Report writing and basic administration skills
