About The Role
Kirklees Museums and Galleries are looking for enthusiastic and welcoming Welcome Officers to help create a positive, inclusive experience for all our visitors. As the first point of contact, you’ll play a vital role in making sure everyone feels welcomed, informed and inspired during their visit. This is a people‑focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with the public and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service in a cultural and heritage setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Welcoming visitors to our museums and galleries in a friendly and professional manner
* Providing information about exhibitions, events, facilities and local attractions
* Supporting safe access to galleries and ensuring visitor wellbeing
* Assisting with events, workshops and school or group visits
* Promoting a positive, inclusive and accessible environment for all visitors
* Working as part of a team to maintain high standards of presentation and customer care
What We’re Looking For
* A warm, approachable manner and excellent communication skills
* A strong commitment to customer service
* Confidence working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds
* Ability to remain calm, helpful and professional in busy situations
* Flexibility to work across different sites and shifts, including weekends
* A passion for museums, history, art and culture
* The ability to work at more than one site would be preferable
* Previous retail experience/cash handling would be an advantage
