1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Harlow
Location: Harlow, Essex
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A caring and inclusive primary school in Harlow is looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a pupil who requires individualised attention to thrive in school.
About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to work 1:1 with a child who needs tailored academic, emotional, and social support. You’ll play a vital role in helping them access learning and reach their full potential, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
Main Responsibilities
* Support a pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis across the school day
* Assist with learning tasks, social development, and behaviour regulation
* Follow and help implement the pupil’s EHCP targets and support plan
* Communicate regularly with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents
* Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech & language needs)
* A kind, patient, and proactive attitude
* Strong communication and teamworking skills
* The ability to build a trusting relationship with the pupil
* A relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable)
