We have an exciting role on offer for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly and supportive Dietetic team at Furness General Hospital, Barrow in Furness. The post will provide an excellent opportunity for the successful post holder to develop knowledge and experience in a busy district general hospital.
This post would be suited to an enthusiastic and well motivated person looking to develop their interest in nutrition and healthcare along with their interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the dietetic team in providing a service to inpatients and outpatients with direct patient contact in both settings. In addition, the post holder will support the dietetic team with general administrative duties and the day-to-day running of the department.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as several community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practices, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer a range of services including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and can handle non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All hospitals provide outpatient services, diagnostics, therapies, day-case, and inpatient surgeries, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.

Education & Qualifications
* GCSE English or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in health and social care
Experience
