About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while promoting ethically sourced products and recommending recipes to customers. You'll actively embody our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — and bring it to life.
You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, positively impacting their perception of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Additionally, you'll help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for your food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
2. Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
3. Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and reducing food wastage.
4. Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
5. Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills to work well as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest and knowledge of food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch as a whole.
