Region Tax Manager
Initial 6 month Contract
We need an experienced Region Tax Manager who will be responsible for managing regional tax compliance, reporting and advisory activities across the UK and EU markets.
The role supports the Head of Tax in ensuring compliance with local regulations, optimizing tax processes, and providing value-added tax advice to business stakeholders.
The position acts as a key bridge between finance, business functions and external advisors, ensuring tax risks are effectively managed while supporting business growth and strategic initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
Tax Compliance & Reporting
* Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all regional tax filings, including Corporate Tax, VAT and other relevant taxes
* Manage tax accounting and reporting requirements for statutory and group reporting purposes
* Oversee tax disclosures in financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
* Coordinate with external advisors to ensure compliance obligations are met efficiently
* Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business
Business Partnering & Advisory
* Act as a key tax business partner to finance and commercial teams across the region
* Provide practical tax advice on business operations, new initiatives and commercial proposals
* Support tax-efficient structuring for new and existing business activities
* Assist in transfer pricing matters including documentation and intercompany transactions
* Support finance teams with tax-related training and guidance
Indirect Tax & Operational Support
* Oversee VAT compliance processes and ensure proper controls and reportingaccuracy
* Support customs and cross-border transaction tax matters
* Work with finance and operations teams to improve tax-related processes and controls
* Provide support on employee tax and payroll-related compliance where required
Risk Management & Internal Control
* Maintain and update tax risk register and control framework
* Review internal processes to identify tax risks and implement mitigation measures
* Ensure alignment with internal control standards (e.g. SOX)
* Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation
Group Reporting & Projects
* Support group tax reporting including year-end and interim reporting requirements
* Assist in tax-related projects, restructuring and strategic initiatives
* Collaborate with global tax team on cross-border matters
* Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and systems
This will be an initial 6 month contract role with a competitive rate of pay.
Ideally were looking for a candidate who is/has:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) or tax professional (CTA or equivalent)
* Strong experience in corporate tax, VAT and international tax matters
* Experience in a multinational or regional business environment
* Solid understanding of tax compliance, reporting and internal controls
* Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
