Are you a qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) looking to start your career or move to our team of 0-19 practitioners? We value the contribution of the Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) in improving outcomes for children, young people and families. We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialist Practitioner (School Nursing) to join the Dorset 0-19 CYP Public Health Teams in the Purbeck and Poole West localities. This post is a permanent part-time role of 22.5 hours per week, year round with no weekend working, some hybrid working and flexibility with hours. You will be required to travel across both localities and be present within teams and schools alike.
Responsibilities
* Lead and participate in the School Nursing core programme, as underpinned by the Healthy Child Programme and high impact areas, in partnership with children, young people and families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Children's Services, Schools and other Health Care providers.
* Manage the members of the 0-19 team, delegating within the skill mix team and sharing knowledge and skills across the 0-19 team.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist interventions and packages of care to people on an allocated caseload; promote independence and autonomy; work within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Advance own clinical knowledge, skill and competence based on current evidence through advanced educational programmes.
* Communicate effectively in verbal and written form in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information in difficult situations using de-escalation, mediation, resolution and professional Duty of Candour.
Requirements / DBS
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
