Role Overview
To lead on prevention and intervention efforts to help our residents sustain their tenancies. Our team is based within the Housing Tenancy Management Team and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the Council's vision of keeping communities safe.
You will focus on intervening and resolving reports of ASB and Domestic Abuse. Referrals and signposting will be made quickly and accurately, supporting residents, particularly vulnerable ones, to ensure tenants feel safe in their homes. Developing strong partnerships with internal and external agencies is essential to assess and manage risk and employ a range of intervention and support measures to mitigate risks and secure positive outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Address reports of ASB and Domestic Abuse.
2. Support victims of Domestic Abuse within both HRA and General needs stock, ensuring each victim is robustly risk assessed, referred to appropriate support agencies, and receives a tailored safety plan with safety measures implemented.
3. Attend meetings and work closely with stakeholders to identify and implement solutions to ASB cases.
4. Deliver a resident-focused response service to ASB complaints and breaches of tenancy/lease agreements.
5. Create and manage effective action plans to resolve ASB cases.
6. Utilise current legislation and good practice to take preventative and legal actions, including mediation services.
7. Conduct interviews with complainants, witnesses, and alleged perpetrators of ASB.
8. Prepare and serve legal notices, prepare cases for court, and represent the organisation as necessary.
9. Manage service queries to ensure a positive customer experience.
10. Communicate effectively with victims, their families, and perpetrators, ensuring their views are heard and recorded accurately.
11. Establish rapport and build respectful, honest, and safe relationships with victims, families, and perpetrators as needed.
12. Provide and present complex reports based on evidence and assessed needs.
13. Ensure all child and adult safeguarding matters are handled promptly and in line with procedures.
14. Manage complex and high-risk casework related to vulnerable perpetrators of ASB and abuse.
Key Skills and Requirements
* Full driving licence and use of a vehicle at all times.
* Experience working in the public sector managing tenancy-related breaches.
