THE ROLE
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team, starting immediately. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
You'll be comfortable working with high volumes of data processing on a daily basis, managing deadlines and handling multiple priorities at once. Accuracy, organisation, and strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be working with colleagues across the business as well as external suppliers.
We're looking for someone proactive and adaptable - happy to step in and support the wider team where needed, while eager to learn new tasks and processes along the way.
This role would suit someone with a genuine interest in finance and accountancy. We are also open to supporting progression towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing data entry and processing with accuracy and attention to detail
* Processing supplier invoices with precision and adherence to company policies
* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any invoice discrepancies or payment issues with suppliers
* Ensuring accurate reconciliation of bank statements and addressing any discrepancies
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the general ledger
* Tracking and managing freelance invoicing and spend, supporting the month-end process, and owning improvements to this workflow
* Supporting payment runs and assisting with banking tasks
* Processing staff expenses in line with company policies
* Handling payment queries from internal and external stakeholders
* Running the finance inbox day-to-day, ensuring queries are dealt with promptly
* Providing support to the Finance Manager and Accounts Payable Manager as necessary
* Assisting the finance team with ad hoc tasks when needed
ABOUT YOU
* Experience working in a finance, accounts payable, or data-heavy role
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively under pressure
* Comfortable working with high volumes of processing, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
* Confident communicator, able to deal professionally with people at all levels internally and externally
* Flexible, proactive, and willing to learn new tasks to support the wider team
* Basic understanding of accounts payable processes and working with ledgers
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
