Our UK-wide building team has built a reputation for delivering high quality projects in Commercial and Mixed-used developments, Healthcare, Custodial, Education and Defence Sectors.
To build on our success we are looking for a Senior Project Manager for Defence to effectively and professionally lead day to day Design and Construction management of significant elements on of a MOD/DIO project, including procurement, installation, and commissioning. Delivering within budget and programme to the satisfaction of the client, users and local community
You will:
1. Lead the management of design consultants to ensure information is provide to suit the procurement strategy, manage the production of working drawings by trade contractors within the given timeframes
2. Oversee all works of the trade contractors, contributing to the selection of key specialists, suppliers, productions including the production of working drawings, procurement and prefabrication and performance on site.
3. Develop clear, detailed and practical measures of performance to meet project objectives. Regularly inspect works for compliance with design and report on progress, ensuring remedial action is taken within agreed timelines
4. Implement a good communications strategy within the project to ensure that all team members are regularly briefed (every one to two weeks) and provide regular written reports to monitor performance, risk and opportunity management and highlight issues at an early stage
5. Lead the commercial control of trade on tractors. In conjunction with the commercial lead, ensure contractual and claim correspondence is suitable actioned within agreed timeframes.
6. Undertake line management responsibilities for direct report staff ensuring each is effectively managed, had a current performance review and learning plan, and are able to carry out duties as assigned to them.
7. Assign clear accountabilities to members of the department and help others understand and achieve their responsibilities
We’re looking for:
8. Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager
9. Working knowledge of materials, specification and industry working practices
10. Background background working on DIO/MOD projects
11. Educated to HNC level of equivalent
12. Likely to hold professional qualification (MCIOB)
13. Security clearance will be required
