Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Buying Coordinator to join a vibrant and forward-thinking team based near Swindon.
About the Role:
This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop or advance their career in procurement. Previous buying experience is advantageous but not essential.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and other IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Procurement:
o Lead and manage the procurement of goods and services to ensure a competitive supply chain.
o Develop and oversee procurement objectives to support business goals.
* Team Leadership:
o Manage the procurement team, ensuring efficiency and alignment with company objectives.
o Mentor and support team development.
* Supplier Management:
o Select suppliers, issue inquiries, evaluate quotations, and negotiate contracts.
o Develop strong supplier relationships for competitive pricing and service.
* Project Support:
o Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate procurement processes.
o Assist in selecting labor teams and subcontractors for projects.
o Ensure timely procurement and delivery of equipment.
* Process Management:
o Monitor supply chain compliance with internal systems and safety standards.
o Prepare material schedules based on drawings and specifications.
o Report on pricing, supplier performance, and delivery.
Key Requirements:
* Proficiency in Excel.
* Qualification or partial qualification in CIPS, CIOB, or RICS (advantageous).
* GCSEs or equivalent education.
* Full UK driving license (role location not accessible by public transport).
